Florida Volleyball Plays First Home Top-20 Match
Florida Hosts Kentucky In Match Featuring Two Of SEC’s Top Teams
The No. 17-ranked Florida volleyball team will play its first home match against a top 20 team on Wednesday, Sept. 14, when it hosts No. 18 Kentucky at the O'Connell Center.
First serve is set for 7 p.m. ET, and the match will be streamed live on SEC Network+.
Gators And Wildcats Are Among SEC’s Best
Florida (7-2) is off to a strong start to the 2022 season. The Gators have won their last three matches, including a sweep of No. 23 Georgia on the road last weekend.
Kentucky (6-1) is also coming off a win over a ranked opponent. The Wildcats defeated No. 22 San Diego in four sets on Friday night.
Both Florida and Kentucky are among the top teams in the SEC. The Gators are currently ranked third in the SEC East, while the Wildcats are second in the SEC East.
Matchup Features Two Of Nation’s Best Players
The match between Florida and Kentucky will feature two of the best players in the country in Florida's T'ara Ceasar and Kentucky's Alli Stumler.
Both players are outside hitters, and they rank among the top 10 in the SEC in kills per set.
Ceasar is a two-time All-American and was named the SEC Player of the Year in 2021. Stumler is a two-time All-SEC selection and was named the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2020.
The match between Florida and Kentucky is sure to be a competitive one. Both teams are ranked among the top 20 in the country, and they both have two of the best players in the country.
