The Hague, Netherlands - The International Criminal Court (ICC) on Monday requested arrest warrants for Hamas leader in Gaza Yahya Sinwar. The prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, presented evidence to a panel of judges alleging that Sinwar committed war crimes during the 2014 conflict with Israel.
Bensouda specifically accused Sinwar of orchestrating attacks on Israeli civilians that resulted in the deaths of dozens of people. The ICC prosecutor also alleged that Sinwar played a key role in the use of human shields by Hamas fighters, which is prohibited under international law.
