Chelsea Appoint New Technical Director
Club Signs Laurence Stewart From AS Monaco
Chelsea Football Club have appointed Laurence Stewart as their new technical director, the Premier League club announced on Wednesday.
Stewart joins the Blues from French club AS Monaco, where he held the same position since 2017. He is a highly respected figure in the football world, having previously worked as sporting director for Liverpool and Manchester City.
The 49-year-old Scot will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Chelsea's football operations, including player recruitment and development, as well as working closely with the manager.
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck said: "We are delighted to welcome Laurence to Chelsea. He is a highly experienced and respected football executive who will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the club. We are confident that he will play a key role in helping us to achieve our long-term ambitions."
Stewart said: "I am very excited to join Chelsea, a club with a rich history and a global reputation. I am looking forward to working with the manager, players, and staff to help the club achieve success on and off the pitch."
