NYCHA Developments in Brownsville, Brooklyn
A new 12-story, 100% affordable housing development will bring 179 permanently affordable apartments to Brownsville, Brooklyn.
The development, which is being built on a vacant lot at the corner of East New York Avenue and Dumont Avenue, will include a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments.
The project is part of NYCHA's Brownsville Plan, a $1.5 billion investment in the neighborhood that includes the construction of new affordable housing, the renovation of existing NYCHA developments, and the creation of new parks and open space.
The new development is expected to be completed in 2024.
In addition to housing, the Brownsville Plan coordinates over $150 million in City investments, including renovations of Brownsville's parks, improvements to transportation, and the creation of new educational and job training programs.
The Brownsville Plan is a comprehensive community development plan that is designed to revitalize the neighborhood and improve the quality of life for its residents.
